About Us
Hip Hop Congress Inc. Atlanta
Hip Hop Congress Atlanta is a community chapter of the National 501(C3) organization Hip Hop Congress Incorporated. Established in 1993, Hip Hop Congress Inc. exists as a collective of artists, educators, and activists that work to improve community and social conditions through hip hop culture. It is significant because it provides a path for highly creative and often disenfranchised people to channel their energy into a strong organized force aimed at improving their community. We are a diverse group of individuals spanning over 50 chapters on university campuses, high schools, and local communities both nationally and globally.
Our events and programming focus on the following 5 Concepts:
-
Education
-
Artist Development
-
Community Improvement
-
Socio-Political Activism
-
Entrepreneurship
We believe that hip hop is not only a medium of expression, but also a culture of positive dynamic values and people who uphold those values in their daily lives, families, careers, and communities.
